About Homewood Energy Services

Homewood Energy Services (HES) sets that standard for excellence in serving the nuclear power generation industry throughout North America and Europe.

For more than 80 years, we have been manufacturing Westinghouse electrical products, and have been serving nuclear facilities since the late 1950s, when the first atomic electric power plants were commissioned for civilian uses.

Today, HES manufactures a wide range of low voltage and medium voltage motors, and Birns/Homewood emergency lighting, to support a plant's installed base, and to provide upgraded equipment for plant modifications.

When Westinghouse sold its Homewood Division in 1995 under a management buyout, this transaction included the purchase of facilities, as well as 20 million shop orders, drawings, tooling and manufacturing equipment for producing vintage Westinghouse parts.

Low Voltage Motors

We own more than 20 million Westinghouse shop orders, drawings, specifications and original tooling, which allows us to duplicate many of your Low Voltage Motors which have been installed over the past 5 decades.

Medium Voltage Motors

The most important characteristics of our Medium Voltage Motors (Westinghouse and non-Westinghouse replacements) include no design changes required, ability to operate at reduced voltages and reliable designs that have been used for more than 5 decades.

Emergency Lighting Fixtures

Our ELFs, designed and manufactured by Birns, include direct retro replacement for Halophone M-19, maintenance-free batteries and 8 hours of illumination after power loss.
